There was a young man back stage, Jason Sefrhans, who had charcoal drawings he'd done of John. They were really good, and I think he said he was untrained and I was tickled to see them. He brought the originals for John and gave me a copy and permission to let you all see them. His mother (who looked more like his sister) thought I was Prine's wife,. I had to laugh, "Are you kidding, I don't think so, it takes a rare breed to stay married to a musician. This is as close as I get.webmistress. sounds dangerous, huh? I sleep at his shrine." Dang, it must have been the fact that Jessica made me take off the Prine tee and put on 'something more for an evening concert' - She's always tried to make an adult out of me.

I introduce Jessica to John as my best buddy from Catholic girls school she inserts that she went to the school because she was Catholic, but I was sent there because I was bad. John nods knowingly at her...hmmmm. Anyway it such a fulfilling moment watching her get all flustered and stammer, because this was my buddy and we had just come full circle. Starting out, young and far from home in the late 70's with one my one Prine 8-track and her two Dan Fogleberg albums- we crammed them down each other's throats. She handed him her Souvenirs CD (that I had already scribbled in) and asked him if he would sign it "next to this other famous person." - we took a couple of photos for history sake, asked him if his throat hurt, and he said it didn't. Pat, Prine and the Wise Guys. thank you for a fabulous concert and sharing in most memorable evening.

We left to find our husbands who weren't allowed backstage and were off wandering the bustling college co-ed bars of Champaign.

Thanks to Steve Barr's friends for not being able to go to the show and making available to us more than Prine concert and a way to share something special with my best buddy and his son Zach for putting up with my fidgeting. Thank you Karen, for executive decisions. Thanks to Marty (you wild man) because he told me to say this. To the 4 D's - Dave, Deb, Dana, and Dumbass. you know who you are and sometimes so do I. Thanks to Mike, little Margaret, Katie Winters for being such big and tiny Prine fans, for having beer in the van - I am so glad Margaret and Katie got to finally meet him the next night. Thanks to Jessica and Mark Dennis for everything, we miss you guys and have to do it again.

Most important and always, thanks my old faithful 'the webmister' Terry for making this a very special Prine concert by saying, 'Find tickets, let's go!' ~I love you.
